Top 6 Tweaks at SiGMA Europe November

It’s the little things. We’ve gone all out this year to make sure SiGMA’s Malta expo is next level.

Whether it’s bringing superstar Akon to the stage or amping up networking opportunities at the many friendly-competitive sporting events planned, Katy Micallef looks at 6 stand out moments coming to SiGMA Europe this November.

1. Cooking up a Storm: Malta Awards go Vegetarian

The Malta Gaming Awards, 2019.

Our story has become an increasingly global one – and as a growing company we owe it to our audience to pursue a more conscious awareness of our place in the wider world. As part of our plan to commit to a more sustainable way of living and working, our lavish Gaming Awards gala is taking the bold step to go vegetarian. No longer an option by default, we’re challenging the talented chefs at Hilton Malta to create a meat-free menu that will knock your socks off!

2. A Lavish Gaming Party at Malta Week

If there’s one thing we’re known for, it’s putting on a good show! Excitement is already brewing in anticipation of a star-studded line up of performers, including singer, record producer and philanthropist-entrepreneur Akon, football star turned rising DJ Djibril Cissé, DJ Ruby, and a troop of electrifying cyber dancers. And what better way to celebrate Malta’s resilience and determination to maintain its position on the gaming world stage than by bringing out 500 bottles of the best champagne at midnight? We also know that three solid days of sealing deals and shaking hands takes it out of you – so we’re moving the party to day two, leaving you feeling fresh for what promises to be a night to remember!

3. Empowering Parents: Free Childcare

Business-family life balance is top of our agenda this year. Many of us at SiGMA are parents ourselves, so we understand how difficult it can be to maintain the delicate balance between managing high-pressure jobs in addition to your children’s needs. Which is why we’re offering professional childcare services at the Westin Dragonara Resort Malta to cater for all parents attending Malta Week events – ensuring they can make the most out of the opportunities on offer without having to compromise on their plans.

4. Sports and Leisure Activities

The 2018 SiGMA Football Cup tournament.

We’re warming up for a buzzing three days of expo and conferences by planning a full day of fun networking activities for delegates before  the show even starts. Things kick off with the SiGMA Football Cup tournaments – including, for the first time this year – a Women’s tourney. There’s also a friendly-competitive Padel Tournament, a golfing event, and a Networking Poker Tournament in the evening for delegates to break the ice before they get down to business on the 16th.

5. Recycle, Reuse, Reduce

In addition to holding our Awards evening at the Hilton – a hotel that has been eco certified by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), the Malta Week expo also takes place at a venue that has taken similar environmental considerations. All the carpets at the MFCC are 100% recyclable, having been designed for recycling after the event takes place – and considering how large the venue is – this is no small feat.

6. A Green Expo

We’re going green – literally! We’re lining our walkways and tents at the MFCC with a lush selection of foliage, including a living wall. Not just a thing of beauty, plants work to reduce stress, acting as natural air purifiers, with indoor plants removing around 87% of air toxins in 24 hours – making them particularly useful at high energy events like ours. In fact some studies have show that even the smallest plant can have a powerful affect in inducing positive emotions.
