BetMGM sponsors Clarence House Chase Raceday in Ascot

Ascot Racecourse has announced BetMGM UK as the new title sponsor for the eagerly awaited Clarence House, marking a significant collaboration.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the world of horse racing, with BetMGM taking the helm of the day’s main event – the £175,000 ($223,000) Grade 1 BetMGM Clarence House Chase. This prestigious race has been graced by past champions such as Altior, Un De Sceaux, and Sprinter Sacre.

The upcoming race promises an exciting showdown, with top contenders Jonbon and El Fabiolo ready to compete under the expert guidance of trainers Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins.

BetMGM’s Expanding Influence in Horse Racing

BetMGM’s sponsorship doesn’t stop at the main event. It extends to five additional races on the card, including the £60,000 Grade 2 BetMGM Mares’ Hurdle (Registered as The Warfield). This comprehensive sponsorship sets a new benchmark in the industry. The total prize money for the BetMGM Clarence House Chase Raceday in 2024 reaches a record £415,000 across seven races, reflecting a 13 percent increase from the £366,400 offered in 2022.

Sam Behar, UK Director of BetMGM, expressed his delight at partnering with Ascot for such a prestigious fixture. He emphasized that it’s a proud moment for BetMGM to be the title sponsor for this significant event in the racing calendar, further solidifying their commitment to horse racing. Felicity Barnard, Commercial Director and Deputy CEO at Ascot Racecourse, echoed these sentiments. She expressed excitement about growing their relationship with BetMGM and acknowledged their crucial support in delivering record-breaking prize money for the day.

This sponsorship deal follows BetMGM’s recent announcement as the new title sponsor of Premier League Darts, further cementing their position in the world of sports betting. As the BetMGM Clarence House Chase Raceday approaches, all eyes will be on Ascot Racecourse for what promises to be another high-class running of the race.

Premier National Hunt event
The Clarence House Chase Raceday, a premier National Hunt racing event held annually in January, features highlight races, notably the Grade 1 BetMGM Clarence House Chase with a £175,000 ($223,000) prize fund. Past champions include Altior, Un De Sceaux, and Sprinter Sacre.

The event offers a total record-breaking prize money of £415,00. In addition to the main race, BetMGM sponsors five other races, including the £60,000 Grade 2 BetMGM Mares’ Hurdle.
